There are a lot of extra classes that the School offers.
A child's participation in extra lessons must be reported on a special form which is available on the school's website (enrolment / download documents)
All the extra classes start in the second week of October and ﬁnish in the second week of June every school year.
There is a psychologist and speech therapist who work in the school every day.
What do we need communication for?
It is necessary to pass information, express feelings, share opinions, conduct monitoring (reprimands and expressing demands) and to motivate (praising, criticising and feedback).
Aims of the class:
- Teaching effective forms of communication.
- Teaching to listen actively.
- Practicing the ability to communicate and read nonverbal symbols.
- Getting familiar with the rules of giving constructive feedback.
- Teaching abilities important in human communication.
- Emotional self- awareness.
- Recognising emotions and creating a "dictionary" to express them.
- Controlling emotions.
- Understanding emotions.
- Solving interpersonal conﬂicts.
- Coping with stress.
- Making decisions.
- Positive thinking.
Maths and areas related to it are open doors for future. Here pupils learn maths for problem solving. Each child in a group has to ﬁnd the right solution, every way to get it is right. We concentrate on ﬁnding the solution, not on calculation. In this way pupils get familiar with easy mathematical concepts, understanding them even though their calculations may be hard.
ARTS AND CRAFTS
The aim of the class is to raise in children awareness of beauty around us, to increase their independent and creative activity and to develop their imagination. Lessons conducted by an outstanding instructor will help pupils learn about different techniques, e.g. glass painting, ceramic, carving, origami, etc. Thanks to using different techniques pupils will develop their motor and coordination skills and, what is more, they will experience art.
Pupils will also learn:
- using different techniques of expressing themselves: speech, drawing, symbol, note, report and picture
- Recognising fabrics (raw materials, semi products and fabrics)
- Characteristics and usage of fabrics
- Easy technology of fabric working.
MUSIC AND EURYTHMICS CLASS
Classes developing the love of and ear for music and rhythm. It is a class that will develop pupils' creative invention, too.
Main goals of the class are creativity, movement, dancing skills and supporting children's natural spontaneity. All the skills taught during this class increase pupils' psychomotor abilities which are indispensable for harmonic development, they build self conﬁdence, good contact of children with their own bodies and peers.
THEATRE OF A CREATIVE ACTOR
This is a workshop that develops creative potential of children in the ares of: text interpretation, movement on stage, improvisation and animation of an object. Participants of this class learn about the world of theatre through games and next through discovering the techniques real actors use. This class helps develop pupils' memory and concentration. It strengthens children's self esteem, helps them learn more about themselves and teaches to cooperate with others.
GERMAN/ SPANISH- choose one of these. Two hours per week, starting from 1st grade
Pupils do homework with the supervision of their Teacher
AFTER CARE ROOM
It is a place where pupils are looked after by the teachers, they play and rest. Children spend time in a nice and save environment there. Classes here develop their creativity. Pupils need time to rest after the effort they put in all the lessons. It is an opportunity for them to spend some time with their peers playing, talking and making things. The ability to cooperate with others is important not only for children, it inﬂuences their adult life.
SCHOOL'S SPORTS CLUB
We want to develop in children the need for active rest individually or in groups. We want to interest them in different sport disciplines (football, volleyball, basketball, athletics and handball). Children will feel motivated to work hard and get better results- taking part in competitions.
LITTLE TRAVELER'S CLUB- A CLASS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Multicultural workshops showing pupils the world of different cultures via multimedia presentations showing fascinating parts of the world. This class debunks stereotypes helping understand other civilisations as well as native culture.
LITTLE DISCOVER'S CLUB
It is a Polish program coordinated by Copernicus Science Centre. Young discoverers conduct experiments and researches with the teacher's supervision. Children can contact other clubs and take part in mutual projects and contests. They can also ask for advice consultants from Copernicus Science Centre.
PAID EXTRA CLASSES:
- SWIMMING- once a week
Pupils learn to swim being supervised by an Instructor.
They go to the indoor swimming pool at 7 Józef Lompy street in Bielsko- Biała.
PHYSIOTHERAPY EXERCISES- once a week
The aim of the class is correction of faulty posture by stretching and strengthening muscles being responsible for certain faults in posture. We want to teach pupils habits of the right posture. We will work to eliminate contractures that shape directly children's posture. We teach pupils how they should step their feet properly while walking and running, we correct ﬂat foot. What is more, this class helps correct more severe problems, too.
